Switching on the instrument
Information
Ensure that the ambient conditions specified in Chapter 3 are maintained.
Please note the points below, whenever you switch the spectrometer back on (or
the X-ray tube) after an extended "off" period:
You should follow the warm-up procedure that is suggested on activation of
the instrument, which is dependent on the duration during which the
spectrometer (or X-ray tube) has not been operated.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in a reduced service life for the
X-ray tube.
The spectrometer can only deliver reliable measurement results, provided the
prescribed warm-up procedures (including warming up phase) are properly
carried out.
If the spectrometer is not operated inside an air-conditioned room, a constant
ambient temperature must be maintained. If the room temperature was changed,
wait at least 30 minutes before switching on the spectrometer. Otherwise, the
results of the measurements will be falsified.
Notice! Damage to instrument
It is imperative you follow the prescribed warm-up procedure; otherwise, this can
result in damage to the X-ray tube.
To switch on the instrument, proceed as follows:
1.
Turn the key switch to the horizontal position.
2.
Switch on the computer.
The operating system is booted.
3.
Click the "XRF Analyzer Pro" button on the screen to start the routine dialog
of the XRF Analyzer Pro measurement program.
