(3) The ground and canopy confidence values are independent, relative measures for
ground and canopy distance. 80% confidence for ground means something else than 80%
for canopy. Signal strength, the number of targets detected, and the history of ground and
canopy distance are considered to determine this value. The confidence values are an indi-
cation only. Thresholds for decisions made on the controller / system level need to be deter-
mined through application testing.

rent vehicle speed. This message is optional; the device is able to perform its basic function-
ality without speed information.
All values are in little endian format. Bit1 of byte 1 = LSB of first byte
