5.5. Switching from the transport configuration to the service configuration
Proceed as specified in Section 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 to prepare the mower for operation. Next, do the
following:
Carefully lower the mower deck until it touches the ground.
Operate the top link to set the required cutting height of the mower deck.
NOTE:
Switch the mower between the service and transport configuration on firm and
level ground only. Before switching between the configurations, make sure that
no bystanders are at a risk of crushing with the mower.
5.6. Pre-operational procedure
NOTE:
Before shipping to the customer, all cylinder piston rods are factory preserved
with a protective lubricant for protection against weathering and reduction of
their service life. Before commissioning the machine, remove the excess
preservative from the cylinder piston rods.
When at the work site and with the mower in the service configuration:
Couple the PIC neck to the tractor PTO (if only one of the PIC necks was detached) or install the
PIC on both ends.
The optimum forward tilt angle of the mower deck is 0° to 3° from the ground. The tilt is set by
reducing or extending the top link.
Slowly engage the PTO and bring the mowing discs to the operating speed.
Engage a tractor driving speed and drive the mower into the vegetation to be mowed. Level
meadows can be mowed at any ground speed above 10 km/h. Reduce the ground speed to a safe
level in rough terrain.
NOTE:
The flow of the cut material is disturbed at ground speeds below 5 km/h and the
mower is prone to clogging. This significantly reduces the mowing performance.
NOTE:
Do not tilt the mower back; otherwise the mower deck wear will be much faster
or the mower deck will fail.
NOTE:
An improper load floating setting of the mower deck will increase the mower
deck ground pressure which may result in accelerated wear of the skids,
overloading the mower deck driveline, reduced fuel economy, damage of the
turf, and contamination of the mowed fodder.
