5.0 Before operating the boiler

Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors or liquids in the vicinity of this or any
other appliance. If you smell gas vapors, do not try to operate any appliance - do not touch
any electrical switch or use any phone in the building. Immediately, call the gas supplier from
a phone located remotely. Follow the gas supplier's instructions, or if the supplier is
unavailable, contact the fire department.
Do not use this boiler if any part has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service
technician to inspect the boiler and to replace any part of the control system and any gas
control that has been under water.
Should overheating occur or the gas supply fails to shut off, do not turn off or disconnect the
electrical supply to the pump. Instead shut off the gas supply at a location external to the
appliance.

5.1 Important pre-ignition checks

Once installation of the appliance is completed, and before operating the appliance, it is important to
review the following checklist of precautions:
5.1.1 Checklist for electrical conditions, ducting and water
connections
Check all line voltage electrical connections to ensure all connections are correct and tight.
Check thermostat connections.
Thermostat in a suitable location.
Ensure venting system is complete and seal tested.
Confirm any common venting system at the installation site is isolated and independent of
the EX boiler.
Confirm that any holes left from the removal of a previous boiler have been sealed, and that
any resizing of the old flue has been done.
