C.5 Contact Output Modules
(1) The contact output module (RO966) requires externally supplied 24 VDC relay
driving power. (Refer to the TC-net I/O Instruction Module: Individual
Specification.)
(2) The contact output module does not contain any overcurrent protection fuse.
Be sure to install a fuse outside that is appropriate for the load current. Note
that unless it is not protected with the fuse, the pattern of the module may burn,
for example, when the load is short-circuited.
(3) The contact output module does not contain any surge absorbing element.
Thus, when you are to connect an inductive load to it, be sure to install the
surge absorbing element in parallel to the load. For selecting the surge
absorbing element, see the sections (in this manual) of the note on applying
the DC output module and the note on applying the AC output module.

Figure C.5-1 Contact output protection
Install a fuse conforming to the current capacity to
the external circuit of the relay output module to
avoid overload.
Overload and short circuit may cause an accident and
damage to the machine.
Check the contact life of the contact relay used for
relay output.
If the relay expires the contact life, it may generate an
output trouble due to loose connection and cause an
accident and a damage on the machine. A contact relay
has a life by abrasion of the contact. If it exceeds the life,
replace it with an alternative.
