ASSEMBLING A GAS-COOLED FRONIUS TIG TORCH
- Pull back the rubber sleeve from the rear of the torch
- Screw the hexagon nut (width across = 21) of the gas+current
connection onto the torch connector point on the machine
and tighten firmly.
- Push the rubber sleeve back over the hexagon nut.

REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION

Remote control units are intended for use in situations where the
welding parameters must be set directly from the welding workpla-
ce. The remote control unit is connected electrically to the power
source by means of special cables 5 or 10 m in length
(see also description of controls on p. 34 point
The following types of remote control unit are available:
1. TIG and manual electrode remote control unit (AC) TR53mc
2. Manual electrode and TIG remote control unit (DC) TPmc
3. TIG pulsed-arc remote control unit (AC/DC)
4. TIG spot-welding remote control unit (DC)
5. TIG Remote-control pedal unit (AC/DC)
N.B.: The only remote control units that can be used are
ones designated "mc". Any other remote control units
will not work.

TR 53mc A.C. REMOTE CONTROL UNIT

Special workplace remote control unit for TIG AC welding, with an
external setting facility for welding current I
AC~ frequency. The down-slope still have to be set at the power
source (TC1mc AC control unit), as does the preselection of
2-step or 4-step operation.
Fig.13
MAIN CURRENT DIAL I
- Continuous adjustment of the welding current in the 5-200A
range (TIG) or the 3-180A range ("Electrode").
- LED indicator
- The digital ammeter shows the command value for current
in the AC~ or DC range even when the machine is still in
open circuit.
BALANCE DIAL
- For influencing the positive and negative half-waves in the
manual-electrode and TIG AC~ ranges.
(See p. 11 Pt.
ADJUSTMENT DIAL for AC~ arc frequency (Hz)
- make possible to change the arc-concentration
Important! If the TR 53mc remote control unit is used for
manual electrode welding in the AC~ or DC ranges (function
selector switch
CURRENT, HOTSTART TIME and ARCFORCE DYNAMIC
will be governed by the values set on the main machine.
Connecting up the remote control unit
- Link the connecting-socket
socket on the remote control unit via the remote control cable.
- Plug in the connectors the right way round, and screw the
swivel nuts down as far as they will go.
- Shift the function selector switch
the operating mode required.
