7 PRECAUTIONS ON REFRIGERANT LEAKAGE

Personnel related to air conditioning engineering design and installation operators must abide by the
safety requirement for preventing refrigerant leakage specified in local laws and regulations. If such
safety requirement is unavailable in local documents, the design and operation must be implemented
based on the following principles: Ultra Heat GMV series VRF units adopt the R410A refrigerant, which
is nonflammable and nontoxic. However, the space for refrigerant leakage must be sufficient to ensure
that the refrigerant concentration does not exceed that specified in the safety requirement; otherwise,
people involved can be stifled by the refrigerant.
The maximum refrigerant charge and maximum refrigerant concentration in the system are
calculated directly based on the size of the air conditioning space. The unit of refrigerant concentration is
1 kg/m³ or 1lb/m³ .
