OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS & PARTS MANUAL
DESCRIPTION
This Submersible Multi-Use Pump is designed for non-automatic use
in clear water. The unit is equipped with a 10 meter, 3-prong grounding
type power cord. The motor is oil-filled and sealed for cooler operation.
Both discharge fittings are designed for convenient attachment to a
garden hose. When the pump is no longer moving water, it will turn off
after a period of time.
UNPACKING
Inspect this unit before it is used. Occasionally, products
are damaged during shipment. If the pump or components
are damaged, return the unit to the place of purchase for
replacement, or call Customer Support (866-928-7284).

PUMP OPERATION

1. Inspect the pump housing, power cord, and plug for
damage or leaks. If the plug is missing the grounding
prong or the cord is damaged, do not use the pump.
If the pump housing is damaged or leaking discard
pump. DO NOT USE.
2. The water level must be at least 3/16 inch deep for
the pump to self-prime.
3. This pump has been designed to attach to a
standard garden hose. Thread the female end of the
garden hose to either discharge on the pump. Make
sure the discharge not being used is securely sealed
using the attached screw-on cap (if unused discharge
is not capped, water will not be pumped through the
garden hose).
4. To reduce leakage between the pump and the hose,
place a hose washer (not included) on the garden
hose before attaching to the pump.
5. For best pump performance, unwind the hose before
starting the pump. This will help remove any kinks
or binds in the hose and allow the unit to pump with
less restriction.
6. Place pump on a hard surface in the water. Do not
set the pump directly on mud or sand surfaces. This
will cause the inlet screen to clog. For best results
clean an area on the hard surface for the pump to sit
while working. The filter features of this pump work
best if the debris is filtered from the outside in. Sitting
the pump directly on a loose/dirty surface will not
allow the filter features to work to their full extent.
7. Always know where your discharge hose is placed. An
unsecured discharge hose may move or whip when the
pump is turned on.
8. Plug the power cord into a grounded 120 VAC GFCI
protected power outlet. Make sure the electrical outlet
is grounded and is rated for at least 15 amps. The
pump will start operating as soon as the power cord is
plugged into the power outlet.
9. The pump will remove water down to approximately
1/16 inch of the surface the pump was placed on.
Removing water down to 1/16 inch is based on many
factors. For pump to remove water as low as possible
the pump must be on a level surface.
10. The pump will turn off after approximately 10 minutes
once it has stopped moving water.
NOTE: When the pump is off the plug will indicate this with
a red light. When the pump is on, the plug will indicate
this with a green light. If there is no red or green light
indication, check the power supply
PUMP RESET
If the pump runs dry, the pump will shut off. A manual reset
is required.
To reset the shut off function of the WaterBUG GLOW,
follow the steps below:
A. For standard resetting, unplug pump and wait
approximately 1 hour.
B. For rapid reset, unplug pump, submerge in cold water,
and wait approximately 15 minutes.
C. Remove from water then plug to a grounded outlet, to
verify it has reset.
D. If pump does not reset, unplug and wait 5 minutes,
then repeat step C.
This pump may create a high pitched sound
prior to shutting off. Unplug pump when water is no longer being
moved.

MAINTENANCE

1. Keep pump inlet clean and free of all foreign objects.
Inspect inlet at beginning of each use.
2. The motor housing is completely sealed and requires
no service. Disassembly of the motor housing or
alteration of the power cord could result in fatal
electrical shock and will void warranty.
NOTE: Debris filter will not protect pump from all debris.
If reduced performance is noticed it may be necessary to
clean the inlet screen and impeller.
