Faults, Possible Causes, Rectification
Fault description
The pump does not run once it
has been switched on.
Uncouple the solenoid cou‐
pling.
The motor is becoming too hot. Fan and fan cowling are dirty.
The pump is running but not
pumping.
The pump is making loud
flowing noises.
The pump is now drawing in by
suction.
Feed rate too low.
Feed rate too high.

Cause
No mains voltage.
Foreign body in the pump housing. Remove the foreign body.
The specific weight and/or the vis‐
cosity of the feed chemical are too
high.
The pump was switched off and
restarted before the rotor came to
a standstill.
Air in the lines.
Cavitation.
No liquid in the pump.
The choke valve is not fully open.
Air in the system.
The cross-section of the suction
and discharge line is too small
(high losses).
The losses from the system are
less than assumed.

Remedy
Check the mains voltage.
Check the pump capacity and//or
other viscosity of the feed chemical.
The rotor must come to a standstill
before you restart.
Clean the fan and fan cowling.
Bleed/vent.
Increase the suction line.

Throttle on the suction side.
n
Lower the temperature of the
n
liquid.
Open the slider.
Fully open the choke valve.
Bleed/vent.
Increase the cross-section of the
suction and discharge line.
Install a choke fitting into the dis‐
charge line.
