operating properly, the drive wheels (front wheels
on Eldorado) must
be
raised off the ground or (on
rear wheel drive ca,,) the drive shaft disconnected.
When towing vehicles on the front wheels, the
steering wheel should be secured to maintain a
straight ahead position.
NOTE: 00 not use the locking feature of the
Anti-Theft Lock to secure the front wheels
for towing purposes.
Freeing
car
fram soft or
slippery
surface
If
it becomes necessary to rock the car to free
it
from sand, mud or snow, move the transmission
selector lever from "0" to "R" in a repeat pattern
while simultaneously applying moderate pressure
to the accelerator. 00 not face engine. For best
possible traction, avoid spinning wheels when try-
ing to free the car. The use of AC Liquid Tire
Chain is recommended for temporary assistance
when traction is lost on ice or snow.
CAUTION
Wheel spin should not exceed 35
mph as indicated on the speedometer. Unless

limiting wheel spin, one spm-
ning wheel can reach excessive speeds, result·
ing in possible
tlfe
disintegration or differ-
ential failure, which could cause personal
injury or txtensive vehicle damage.
