"STOP ENG-TEMP" light (Red)-ThIS Indicator
(located at right of speedometer dial)

ation is accompanied by a warning buzzer. This
light normally illuminates when the
ignitIon
key-
buzzer system operates (key in ignition lock,
ignition off, and driver's door open). This provides
a check of bulb operation.
• If the "STOP ENG-TEMP" light illuminates
while the engine is running, stop the car and
engine as quickly as possible and have the
cause of overheating corrected. Continued
driving may cause engine damage. Do not
open hood
if
steam is present.
"WATER" Temperature light (Red)-This indi-
cator (located at right of speedometer dial)
luminates if engine coolant temperature is exces-
sive. This light normally illuminates during engine
starting (as a check of bulb operation) and may
illuminate briefly when restarting the engine alter
a short stop.
• If
the 'WATER" light Illuminates while the
engine is
runni~
the car should not be
driven until cause of overheating is corrected.
If, during extreme driving conditions, the
light illuminates, the engine may be cooled
by holding eng-ne ",eed slightly above idle
for up to two mlOutes with transmission
selector in "N" (Neutral) and air conditioning
off.
If
light remains on, stop engine.

nance Section.
"GEN" light (Red)-This indicator (located at
right of speedometer dial) illuminates when the
generator is not charging during normal engine
operation. This light normally illuminates during
engine starting and goes out when the engine is
running, providing a check of bulb operation.

Windshield wipers and
washers
The windshield wiper and washer control (located
on driver's door at instrument panel) operates the
washer and concealed wiper system electrically.
Control illumination is provided when instrument
panel lights are on.
Operation
• Clear ice or packed snow from wiper blade
concealment recess at rear of hood before
operating wipers. Carefully loosen or thaw
wipers that are frozen to windshield or lower
molding.
