Tips:
• If Gulll..Matoc has not switched to "aiM",
you may dim the headlights with the foot
switch while the system is on automatic high
beam.
• High beams can be switched on momentarily
for signaling when the system is in automatic
at night. WhenlMlr the headlights Dr parking lights
are on, the front (amber) and rear (red) side
marker lights are on.
The fnr r!flexes are mounted on the rear
bumper. Th13 side reflexes are located in the front
and rear fenders.
Guide-matic headlight control
The Guide·Matic Headlight Control (on cars so
equipped) switches the headlights automatically
while driving in darkness.
Operation
• Set control ring pointer on headlight control
to "OFF" position.
• Select high beam with the foot operated
dimmer switch.
• Set control ring pointer on "FAR", On-
coming headlights will cause the system to
dim your headlights automatically.
After traHic passes, move pointer slowly
away from "FAR" until lights switch to high
beam. The system is then set for automatic
dimming at maximum distance.

TWILIGHT SENTINEL

Twilight sentinel
The Twilight Sentinel system (on cars so
equipped) senses outside light and automatically
turns the headlights on as darkne.. approaches,
and turns them off as daylight resumes. The sys·
tem also turns the headlights off after a time delay
period when the car is parked in darkness. The
delay featun! allows you to lock your car and use
the illumination of the exterior lights for a pre-set
period, after which the lights will turn off auto·
matically_
Operation:
• Automatic headlight operation - With head·
light switch pushed fully in, rotate control
ring pointer on headlight control to the right
of "a FF". lights automatically switch on Dr
off according to the amount of outside light.
• Time delay shut-off - rotate the control ring
pointer to "MAX" to obtain a shut-off time
delay of III to 411 minutes. Rotating the
pointer closer to "OFF" reduces the time
delay period. The minimum delay is obtained
