WARNING
Replace a failed hard disk drive from the system as soon as possible to ensure data
redundancy.
When inserting a removable module, do not use excessive force. Forcing or slamming a
module can damage the connector pins either on the module itself or on the backplane.
DO NOT remove two or more hard disk drive at a time! Should you suffer multiple hard disk
drive failures, always replace one hard disk drive at a time!

5.1 Replacing the Hard Disk Drive

The easiest way to find out if your hard disk drive has failed is by looking at its status LED. If
the power status lights up red, it indicates that that particular hard disk drive has failed. Hard
disk drives are hot swappable, to replace it, please refer to the following procedure:
1. Locate the failed hard disk drive by looking at its status LED.
2. Open the tray bezel by pushing the release button and the front bezel will automatically
open.
3. Remove the drive tray. Pull the tray one inch away from the enclosure. Wait for at least 30
seconds for the disk drive to spin down, and then gently withdraw the drive tray from the
