When the laser print cartridge runs low on toner, the
printer's Control Panel display will prompt you to replace
the cartridge. This is a simple procedure, described on the
following pages.
• Do not expose the cartridge to direct sunlight or
artificial light for more than 15 minutes.
Overexposure will permanently damage the
photosensitive imaging drum.
• Do not open the drum shutter (see Figure 4.1 below)
or touch the green imaging drum surface.
• Be sure to shake the cartridge as directed to
distribute the toner inside the cartridge. Print quality
may be degraded or damage may occur if the toner
is not evenly distributed.
