4 Basic Troubleshooting

Paper Size Error or Paper Jam

If a paper size error or paper jam occurs during a reception or copying
operation, the message "Reload XX paper" or "Paper jam XX" is
displayed. If this occurs, follow the procedure below.
Paper Size Error:
Insert paper of the size indicated by the "XX" into the paper tray, or
change the setting to select the paper size currently in the paper tray.
Code Paper size
LT Letter paper
LG Legal paper
A4 A4 paper
Paper Jam:
The code number "XX" indicates the location of the paper jam as
shown in the table below.
Code Location
10 In the Paper Tray or Bypass Tray
20 In the Optional Paper Tray
80 At the paper feed area
90 At the paper exit area
If a paper jam occurs during a reception, the received documents are
automatically stored in memory. Once the paper jam is corrected, the
machine automatically prints the contents that were in memory.

and recommendations which can help avoid paper jams.
Note: The power can be left ON when clearing a paper jam.
