3. Installation

3.3.1 Pilot control of the valve solenoid coils (pilot air)

Caution
Operate the CPA−SC valve terminal only with compressed

air or inert gases (e.g. nitrogen).
Valve terminals with external pilot air

If possible, use non−lubricated air for the pilot air
(connections 12/14). Otherwise observe the instructions
in the section Preparing the compressed air".
Valve terminals with internally branched pilot air
·
If possible, use the above−mentioned media
non−lubricated for the supply air (connection 1).
Otherwise observe the instructions in the section
Preparing the compressed air".
Pilot control of the valve solenoid coils can be undertaken
with internal or external pilot air, depending on the base
block. You can ascertain the pilot control variant for which
your CPA−SC valve terminal is equipped, by means of the
following features (see table).
Pilot connection (12/14) on the base block
marked open thread connector (12/14)
non−marked, closed connection (12/14)
If the operating pressure lies between 3
operate the terminal with internally branched pilot air. In this
case the pilot air is branched from supply channel (1) in the
base block.
