The function of the breathing system is to control the gas flow and the pres-
sure in the breathing system as specified. Gas breathed back into the breath-
ing system has CO2 removed from it by means of a soda lime absorber and
is re-used. In the closed system the consumption of gas and volatile anaes-
thetic is thereby reduced to a minimum.
The breathing system is a compact breathing system with the following prop-
erties:
– Suitable for operation in closed and semi-closed systems.
– Removable from the base unit as a complete unit.
– Automatic connection of all interfaces/sensors.
– Contaminated surfaces can be disinfected or sterilised.
