Fresh air intake

In a well-insulated house the air used for the combustion process has to be replaced. This particularly applies to houses with mechanical
ventilation. There are different ways of making sure that an air exchange takes place. The most important thing is to ensure that there is a
supply of air to the room where the wood stove is located.
National and local building codes must be followed with regard to the connection of a fresh air intake.

Fresh air solution through base

The Scan 57 can be connected to fresh air through the base. This is fitted as shown below. The label of the fresh air solution is fitted to the
rear of the base.
For connection of an external air supply, a ventilation pipe of minimum Ø100 mm is used.
Ø100 mm ventilation pipe, max. length: 6 m with max. 1 bend.

Fresh air damper

The fresh air damper supplied must be mounted in the base of the stove once you have assembled the fresh air intake, plinth and the stove
itself. You can close the fresh air damper when the stove is not in use.
