2-6. I N ITIAL OPE RATING PROCEDURE
Before you start, perform the OPERATIONAL VE R IFI CATION and the DISASS E M B LY pro­
cedures given in the following paragraphs to prepare the HP 4284A for adjustment., The
HP 4284A m ust be initialized ( set to its in itial control settings ), before each adjustment.
Exceptions to these settings will be noted as they occur. After you complete an adjustment
reinitialize the HP 4284A.
The H P 4284A is initialized in following three conditions.
OPERATI ONAL VERIFICATION
Check that the line voltage selector switch on the rear panel of the HP 4284A is properly set.
Turn the H P 4284A ON and let it warm-up and stabilize for at least 30 minutes. After the
warm-up period , initialize the instrument. If the H P 4284A fails its self test or if you can 't
initialize it, refer to the troubleshooting procedures in this service manual .
NOTE
1 . HP 4284A is turned O N .
2 . H P 4284A receives an H P - I B *RST command.
3. SYSTEM RESET is performed.
