Closing the imagePASS

As part of servicing the imagePASS, you may need to open the imagePASS (see
Before you open the imagePASS, you must disconnect cables, and then remove the
imagePASS from the copier
After you service the imagePASS, make sure you close the imagePASS correctly.

When you handle electronic components, follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions

1 Place the lid on the chassis.
2 Secure the lid to the chassis with the two screws that you removed earlier.

Service modes

Service switches and an LED are located on the outside of imagePASS, on the side opposite
the connector panel.
With the service switches, you can change the mode of the imagePASS, a required step in
some service procedures. With the LED, you can monitor the progress of an installation and
view service codes, which provide information about the status of the imagePASS.
During startup, the imagePASS advances through a standard diagnostic sequence. Codes flash
rapidly on the LED display during this time, until the imagePASS reaches Idle. In the Idle
state, 00 displays. If the LED display hangs with a code other than 00 , one or more diagnostic
tests may have failed. For more information about service codes, see
