Operating Instructions for SATA FDG

Single pressure reducer version
■ Close ball valve for atomizing air [3-6] / [5-4].
Version with a second spray gun connection
■ Close ball valve for atomizing air [7-4] / [8-1].
■ Disconnect paint pressure tank from compressed air circuit.
■ Bleed paint pressure tank completely using ventilation valve
[3-4] / [4-4] / [5-6] / [6-5].
■ Loosen T-handle screw [1-12] / [2-13].
■ Fold clamp [1-9] / [2-11] outward.
■ Remove tank lid [1-7] / [2-8] from tank [1-10] / [2-10].
■ Clean using suitable cleaning agent (see Chap. 12).
■ Fill paint pressure tank with spray medium.
Closing the paint pressure tank
■ Position tank lid [1-7] / [2-8] on paint pressure tank [1-10] / [2-10].
■ Fold in clamp [1-9] / [2-11] and position T-handle [1-12] / [2-13] on inner
ridge side of lid.
■ Tighten T-handle screw by hand.
■ Connect agitator to power / compressed air circuit.
■ Connect paint pressure tank to compressed air circuit and pressurize
within the permitted range.
■ Set up paint material and atomizing air supply (see Chap. 10.2).

11. Maintenance and Repair

The chapter below describes maintenance and repair of the paint pres-
sure tank.
11.1. Inspecting the safety valve
Danger!
Risk of injury caused by faulty safety valve
A faulty safety valve will result in improper bleeding of the paint pressure
tank and could cause it to explode.
→ Inspect the safety valve regularly. If the safety valve does not release
the pressure, immediately discontinue using the tank and replace the
safety valve.
Only authorized personnel with sufficient knowledge in this field are al-
lowed to inspect the safety valve [3-3] / [4-3] / [5-10] / [6-10].
■ Close ventilation valve.
■ Pressurize paint pressure tank within the permitted range.
