To dial manually with dial tone:
With the logo screen displayed, lift the handset or press the Speaker button.
1.
The screen displays the message, "Accessing, Please Wait."
Wait for the dial tone and the "Ready to Dial" message.
2.
Dial the number you wish to call. The number will be displayed as it dialed.
3.
The screen will display a message indicating a "Voice Only Call." This will
be shown through the duration of the call, or until the call is switched to video.
When the receiving party answers, a voice only call is established.
4.
The phone at the remote end displays, "Voice Only Call. Start Video."
Note: You cannot make or receive (although the phone will still ring) a call when a
menu is displayed. Exit to the idle screen to answer.
To convert the call to a video call:
The receiving party presses the Start/Dial button. While the video is connect-
1.
ing, a message displays, "Connecting. Please Wait." A yellow time-out bar
will be displayed also. If this bar goes all the way across, then the connection
drops and the unit goes back to idle. For most connections, the call will con-
nect before the bar reaches half full. Typically, connecting takes around 12
seconds.
When the connection is complete a message states, "CareStation Connected."
2.
You will then see an image of yourself in the middle of the screen with the
message "Starting". Starting typically takes around 6 seconds.
Once the call is fully connected, the self-view is cleared, and the audio and
3.
video from the remote side open. As soon as you can see the remote side, you
may begin speaking.
