Do not use the Safety module XFE01.1-SY-01 with an earth-free setup.

10.7.4 Grounding

NOTICE
An optimum grounding is required to keep away possible interferences from the
control and to discharge them to the ground.
Functional earth
Only the functional earth (FE) is used for the XMx controls, exten-
sion modules and the S20 components. The functional earth is only
used to discharge disturbances. For individuals, the functional earth
is not intended as protection against electric shock.
The top-hat rail, on which the control is mounted, has to be mounted to a groun-
ded metal carrier, e. g. the rear panel of the control cabinet.
Grounding screw
A functional grounding via the grounding screw is required to ensure optimum
noise immunity. The grounding screw is positioned under the control, see
10-16 "Position of the grounding screw" on page
earthing a cable, which is as short as possible or, preferably, even via a ground
strap. The maximum cable or ground strap length is 1 m with a cross-section of
6 mm

Mounting, demounting and electric installation
Due to an earth-free setup, the Safety module
XFE01.1-SY-01 might fail.
