Apply p ower, close d isconnect
Replace fuse orreset circuit breaker. Check forcorrect fuses
Ifvoltage isbelow minimum v oltage specified onunit d ata plate,
contact local power company.
Set t he fan to"ON", the fan should r un. Set t hermostat to"COOL" and
lowest temperature setting, theunit s hould runinthe cooling mode
(reversing valve e nergized). Set umt t o"HEAT" and thehighest
temperature setting, theunit s hould r un intheheating mode. Ifneither
theblower orcompressor runinall t hree cases, thethermostat could
bemiswired orfaulty. To ensure miswired orfaulty t hermostat verify 2 4
volts isavailable ontilecondensing section low voltage terminal strip
between "R" a nd "C", "Y" a nd "C", and "0"and "C". Iftheblower does
not o perate, verify 2 4volts between terminals "G" a nd "C" i nthe air
handler. Replace the thermostat ifdefective.
Check setting, calibration, and wiring
Check forloose o rbroken wires a tcompressor, capacitor, orcontactor.
Check UPM board r ed default L.E.D. forBlink C ode
Ifthe compressor iscool and theoverload will n otreset, replace
compressor.
Internal winding g rounded tothecompressor shell. Replace
compressor. Ifcompressor burnout, install suction filter d ryer.
After c ompressor has c ooled, check continuity ofthecompressor
windings. Ifthe windings are open, replace thecompressor
In"COOLING" mode: Lack oforinadequate water flow. Entering water
temperature istoo warm. Scaled orplugged condenser, in"HEATING"
mode: Lack o forinadequate airflow. Blower inoperative, clogged filter
orrestrictions induct w ork
The unit i sovercharged withrefrigerant. Reclaim refrigerant, evacuate
and recharge with factor recommended charge.
Check fordefective orimproperly calibrated high pressure switch.
in"COOLING" mode: Lack oforinadequate airflow. Entering air
temperature istoocold. Blower inoperative, clogged filter or
restrictions induct w ork. In"HEATING" mode: Lack oforinadequate
water flow. E ntering water temperature istoocold. Scaled orplugged
condenser.
The unit i slow onrefrigerant. Check forrefrigerant leak, repair,
evacuate and recharge withfactory recommended charge.
Check fordefective orimproperly calibrated lowpressure switch.
