The SGA will automatically rotate up to the stop position
and will perform a Non-Uniformity Correction (NUC). After
completing the NUC, the SGA will rotate back to a preset
pointing position.
Switch again, to return to the Rate Mode.
h. Press ZOOM Rocker Switch to operate the continuous zoom.

Press the SHIFT then the NULL switch.

Gyro Null will appear in place of word Rate Mode on the display.
k. Move the Strain Gauge in the opposite direction of the Gimbal drift.
Adjust for drift in the following sequence: WFOV, NFOV
(1.8XNFOV). Use the scan control if needed to reduce sensitivity of
the Strain Gauge. The rate gyros do experience drift caused by
electronic and thermal changes over time.

Press the SHIFT Switch and then the NULL Switch again to
complete adjustment.
Because of the influence of thermal and electronic changes
to the gyros, wait 10 to 12 minutes to allow the gyros to
stabilize. Then if necessary perform a second Gyro Null.
m. Resume normal operation.

Auto-Scan Control

The SeaFLIR II Imaging System has a built-in Auto-Scan feature. The
Auto-Scan Switch (Figure 3-1) turns Auto-Scan on or off. This feature
allows the operator to set the pointing position of the SGA to the center
of the area to be searched (Figure 3-37), and activates Auto-Scan to
search for a target. The Auto-Scan will scan an area 60° wide, 30° each
side of the starting position point, without operator input. The start point
is the pointing direction when the system is activated for Auto-Scan.
Elevation can be adjusted by the Strain Gauge while in Auto-Scan mode.
The Auto-Scan Switch turns the automatic scan function on and off.
Full scan range is adjustable from 40° to 180° in increments of 20° by
using the shift key to activate the Focus Rocker. Use the Focus rocker
to adjust the scan width. The range of movements is displayed to the
CM Ref:4049
