Symbology (SYM) Switch

The SYM Switch (like the Symbology Level Select Menu) allows the user
to change the system symbology overlay by selecting between the four
different levels of graphic information displays or "masks". Four pieces
of the graphic information are displayed at all times; Date and time, FLIR
Logo, El (Elevation) and Az (Azimuth) position indicators.
The following graphic symbols (selectable) will only be displayed when
the operator has selected (or not selected) the respective mode or
function:
The SYM switch is also used in Radar Bearing, Single shot Mode to
allow the SeaFLIR II Imaging System to accept a single Radar Bearing
input and slew to the radar data point. During Radar Bearing Mode the
SYM Switch has no affect on symbology. In the Radar Bearing Single-
shot Mode the SeaFLIR II operator would press the SYM switch to
accept radar bearing data and the SeaFLIR II Imaging System would
slew to the radar bearing. In the Radar Bearing Continuous Mode the
SeaFLIR II operator would press the SYM switch to remove offsets and
return to the radar bearing.
Valid on Day of Issue only.
