4-8 TRANSPORTING THE GRAIN DRILL

4-8.1 Check and follow all federal, state, and
local requirements before transporting the
Grain Drill.
4-8.2 The Grain Drill should be transported
only by a tractor required for field operation.
The implement weight should not exceed
more than 1.5 times the tractor weight. Un-
less noted on the implement, maximum
transport speed is 20 mph for the implement
and is designated on the speed identification
symbol (SIS) located on the front of the im-
plement (See Figure 4-6).

4-8.3 When towing equipment in combination,
the maximum equipment ground speed shall
be the limited to the lowest specified ground
speed of any of the towed implements.
4-8.4 Maximum transport speed shall be the
lesser of travel speed specified in the opera-
tors manual, speed identification symbol, in-
formation sign of towed implement, or limit of
road condition.
