Initial Configuration

Initial Configuration
There are five steps required for the initial configuration of the SMS2000:

Changing Your Password

You are encouraged to change the initial configuration password, "manager," after your
initial login to the SMS2000. Perform the following steps to change your password:
At the system prompt enter:
1.
sms2000% passwd
2. Press <Enter>.
3. Enter your new password.
4. Press <Enter>.
The system asks you to verify your password.
5. Reenter your password.
6. Press <Enter>.
You must have access to the serial port and have a phone nearby when contacting
Customer Service to bypass your password.

Setting the Quick Configuration

To reset the entire system configuration, using the IP address, network mask, default
gateway, and DNS servers specified in the basic system configuration, use this command:
TUT Systems, Inc
Change the password for security purposes.
Set the Quick Configuration.
Change the system hostname to identify the system on the network.
Disable authentication.
Save the configuration.
Reboot the system.
Verify connectivity.
