SSD-66 to Delta-88 Trouble-Shooting - Checking the SSD-66 RX & TX Settings.
The SSD-66 is capable of having its RX data input turned off such that no data can be sent into
the SSD-66. Furthermore, the SSD-66's TX data output can also be turned off. This switching
is set internal to the SSD-66 using jumper-pins (shunting pins). If the shunting pins are not
inplace, the SSD-66 will not receive or transmit data. To check the shunting pins, you will need
to open the SSD-66. Prior to doing so, contact ADA. Also see the Appendix on the SSD-66.
After you have most of the mainframe tested, you can proceed to add room keypads, one at a
time. Again, by adding keypads step by step and testing their functions, you will be able to spot
a wiring problem quickly. If the system was functioning and the moment a new keypad was
added to the WH-3000, the system started acting up, you will be able to quickly determine that
the problem lies with the newly added keypad line.
1
Downloading the Delta-88's Programming to Keypads
As keypads are added to the system, you will need to download the newly added keypad with
all of the Delta-88's information. After the keypad is connected to the an open J3-J10 connector
on the WH-3000, follow these steps.
1
Turn the Delta-88 on by pressing any room button followed by a source button.
Remember that power up takes a few moments.
2
Press and hold the Delta-88's LABEL button until its LED is lit. Once in the label mode
you will have five seconds to move to the next step before the Delta-88 automatically
times out of its programming mode. If the LABEL button's LED is off, you are no longer
in the program mode. You will not be able to access the Label Mode (Programming
Mode) unless the selected Delta-88 room is on to a source. If the source display reads
the words "RELEASE" and a number, press a source button to turn on that room.
3
Repeatedly press the PRESET button until the source display reads "MODE 3 PRGRM".
4
Press the Delta-88's ALL button.
"PROGRAMMING"......"PROGRAMMED".....and then the source name selected to that
room. This downloads all the information to the keypads on the system.
At this time you can proceed to the keypad and check its functions. If the keypad is not
controlling the correct room, you will need to change its room address.
2
Changing a Keypad's Room Address
When using an MC-3011 Decora Style Keypad, the room address is set by DIP switches on the
back of the keypad. Use the chart in the Appendix for the MC-3011 to determine the required
DIP switch settings. If the room control is an MC-0038 Hand Held IR Remote Control, the
instructions in the Appendix for the MC-0038 will direct you on how to program the MC-0038
for both system control and room addressing. If the keypad is an MC-3000 or MC-3800 of any
kind, follow these steps as to changing a keypad to the correct room.
