on this line. If no problem is found with the wire, you may need to open the tuner and
check its DIP switch settings as described in the Appendix for the MT-3000. Please note,
if the problem of the keypad not displaying information while controlling a tuner is due
to an improper DIP switch setting or damaged TX wire, it would be the same for all of
the tuner's modules.
Step P - Connection and Testing of the PCT-8 or PCT-4
After having tested one keypad, continue testing the system by adding on the next mainframe
component, the PCT-4 or PCT-8 Source Controller, to the WH-3000 on any open "J3" - "J10".
Typically, the PCT-4 will be set in the factory while the PCT-8 is set in the field. The PCT-4 may
already be labeled for the sources used on the system. You will need to use the PCT-8's
Installation Manual to learn how to program it. Take notes as to the source component and its
PCT-4 (or PCT-8) Port Number.
While the PCT-8 can be bench tested with the sources prior to installation, including full
adjustment of IR carrier levels, the PCT-4 can only be tested in the field upon installation. This
section only describes the testing of the PCT-8 and PCT-4 with the system's keypads such that
when a function is selected on the MC-3000 or MC-3800 keypads, the keypad's display will
read the source transport command (i.e. "DISC SKIP", "PLAY", etc.). This section presumes that
the PCT-8 has been properly loaded with source IR codes/labels and that the PCT-4's DIP
switches are set to control the correct sources. This section does not include any discussion on
adjustments and fine-tuning of the sources so that they will operate when the various transport
commands are selected. Therefore, as you proceed to test the PCT-8 or PCT-4, the most
important factor at the beginning of this section is to verify that the keypad's display is
receiving a conformation command from the PCT-8 or PCT-4. For adjustment and fine tuning
of the PCT-4 see the Appendix on the PCT-4. For adjustment and fine-tuning of the PCT-8, see
the PCT-8 Installation Manual.

Testing the PCT-8 or PCT-4
Since the system may have been preprogrammed at ADA during testing, connection of the
PCT-8 or PCT-4 to the WH-3000 will permit immediate control of these devices. To test the
source controllers:
1
Select a source button on the MC-3000 for a source to be controlled by the PCT-4 or PCT-
8. The display should read the source's name.
2
Start testing the PCT-4 or PCT-8's function by pressing several transport buttons and
take note of the keypads display. When selecting a standard CD Changer on CD 1,
continued pressing of the CD 1 button would advance the CD player to the next disc.
The display will read "DISC SKIP UP". At this time, it is not important that the source
is actually being controlled, but rather, the PCT-4 or PCT-8 are connected properly and
displaying information to the MC-3000 in correspondence to the source type.
3
Repeat the above step for all sources controlled by a PCT-8 or PCT-4.
If the keypad is not displaying the correct source information check the following.

PCT-8 or PCT-4 Trouble Shooting - Programming the Delta-88
The keypads need to be programmed by the Delta-88 to both control and read a particular
source port on the PCT-4 or PCT-8. When using two Delta-88's this programming is done on
