Option 4 - Using an ACC-3000 to Turn On Sources One At A Time & Only As Needed
In most systems designs, ADA will specify an ACC-3000 which is an intelligent source AC
controller. While several aspects of the ACC-3000's future options are still in development,
currently the ACC-3000 is a clean and compact rack component which turns up to eight sources
on and off only as needed. Each of the ACC-3000's source outlets is numbered 1-8 and instead
of using jumper pins to program the function of the AC outlets, a DIP switch is used to set their
operation. Consult with the ACC-3000's DIP Switch Setting Sheet as to the appropriate settings
for you source configuration. The Delta-88 and the ACC-3000 connect to the WH-3000 and the
Delta-88 tells the ACC-3000 which sources are in use to establish source AC switching.
Two types of switching options are most common.
The first option is used when incorporating
an MT-3000 Multi-Tuner. When working
with an MT-3000, the MT-3000 is plugged
into the ACC-3000's first outlet and the next
two outlets are left unused. The remaining
sources are plugged into the ACC-3000's
outlets 4-8 in correspondence to their input
on the Delta-88. Since the MT-3000 acts as
three sources to the system yet has only one
AC power cord, outlets 1, 2, & 3 are linked
together and will all turn on when either
sources 1, 2, or 3 are selected on the Delta-
88. The MT-3000 can be plugged into any
one of these three AC outlets.
The second option is used when all eight
sources must turn on and off individually
(no MT-3000 on the system). The ACC-
3000's source AC outlets 1-8 all correspond
to the Delta-88's source 1-8 inputs and track
accordingly.
Option 5 - Using an ACC-3000 for Sources & an ACC-48 or ACC-3 with DB-9 for Amps
As in the previous page, the ACC-3000 will be used for independent source AC switching
leaving the Delta-88's 9 pin "D" connector available for zone tracking and power amplifier AC
control. As described in previous pages, you can use an ACC-48 to turn on external power
amplifiers with a specific zone. The ACC-48 has limitations, even though it houses four AC
outlets, in that it is only rated for a total current draw of 10 Amps.
An alternate method of AC control can be accomplished using an ACC-3 Low Voltage
Triggered Switched AC Outlet rated at 15 Amps with a DB-9 Nine Pin "D" To Screw Terminal
Connector. This is an ideal zone AC switching option when using high-powered amps, several
amps, or amps located in rooms away from the Delta-88. The DB-9 is a screw terminal platform
to the Delta-88's 9 pin "D" connector via a flat nine pin ribbon cable provided with the DB-9.
In this application, since the ACC-3000 is performing source switching, the Delta-88's 9 pin "D"
