the KOLIBRI (on the
can find the button on the back, near to the
sensor slot), then you will hear three descending
tones and the mode.
16.
KOLIBRI starts monitoring the modes, for each
mode there is the equal number of beeps, the
LED flashes in correspondence with the beep
number.
17.
After 8 single beeps mode 8 is reached, slide the
throttle channel to full throttle position (100%).
18.
After that the ESC starts to beep again with a
single beep tone and the KOLIBRI indicates the
protocols by a number of beeps. Please see the
following table for the protocols.
19. If your protocol has reached (e.g. 3x Beep =
Futaba) slide the throttle channel to reverse
position (0%).
Before disconnecting the battery from the ESC,
it's essential to await the confirmation (step 8),
otherwise the KOLIBRI sees an incomplete
programming and will lock preventing any
potential issues by this and will flash 9 times to
indicate the mode programming has not been
accepted!

Telemetry Port 2 (KOLIBRI 140 LV)
With Mode 9 you can activate the port at the side of
the KOLIBRI 140 LV. The steps are exactly the
same like in Mode 8. If you do not use the cooling
fan on the ESC you also can use this port for
telemetry.
Please note that Futaba can only be used
!
with the sensorport 1 (the one in the front).
The sensor port at the side of the KOLIBRI
140 LV cannot be used with Futaba.
Programming mode 9:
1. Switch on and prepare the transmitter (as shown
from 3.1 on). Throttle stick to the "motor off" (0%)
position.
2. Plug the ESC to the receiver (with the Master
cable). Connect the cable to the receiver's port
(that is designated for throttle function). Then
switch on your transmitter.

LED flashes. You will hear an ascending triad of
sounds, monitoring the activation. Ongoing you
will hear single tones for the recognised number
of battery cells (see 4.1).
6.
After hearing the cell count, push the button on
the KOLIBRI 140 LV, then you will hear three
descending tones and the mode.

KONTRONIK protocol.

10. If your protocol has reached (e.g. 3x Beep =
Futaba) slide the throttle channel to reverse
position (0%).

Mode 10 - BEC Current

When delivered the KOLIBRI has a BEC voltage of
5.6 V. By mode 10 or a KONTRONIK update unit the
voltage can be adjusted between 5-9 V.
Programming mode 10:
1. Step 1 to 7 as in all other modes
2. After 10 single beeps, mode 10 is reached;
move the throttle stick to the full throttle position
(100%). The ESC confirms first the throttle
position with an ascending triad of sounds, and
then the mode with 10 single beeps (throttle
stick remains at the full throttle position).
3. Beginning at 5 V, the BEC voltage is raised by
0.2 V with each beep (the first beep occurs at
5.2 V). When the required voltage is reached,
move the throttle stick to the motor off position
(0%). The KOLIBRI confirms programming with
a rising triad of sounds and the BEC voltage in
a corresponding number of beeps.
4. When reaching the maximum voltage of 9 V
there is a double beep. To confirm a setting of 9
V move the throttle stick to the motor off position
(0%) within 2 s. do the same for 8 V. Otherwise
no BEC voltage is stored.
7.10 KONTRONIK protocol
The KONTRONIK protocol is a special protocol
which can be used for special applications, e.g. for
telemetry data when using the FBL System of Brain.
