7. Functional checks

You must carry out functional checks on the carrying
platform prior to each use, after each dismantling
and reassembly and at the very least every six
months.
Any defects revealed by the checks should be re-
paired and the portable system should not be used
until these repairs have been completed.
The following items should be checked to ensure
proper functioning of the portable system:
Checking oxygen bottle clamps
1. Try shaking the clamped oxygen bottle to check
whether it is held securely in place by the oxygen
bottle clamps.
The snap closures of the oxygen bottle clamps
must not come open. The bottle must not move.
If the snap closures come open or the bottle
moves, readjust the tension of the snap closures
(note "4.4 Oxygen supply" on page 11).
2. Check the oxygen bottle clamps for corrosion
(every 6 months).
If you find corrosion, the oxygen bottle clamp
must be replaced by an authorised technician.
Locking mechanism
1. Place the portable system in the wall mounting
and snap it closed.
– The portable system must sit securely in the
mounting.
– The red end of the catch must be flush with
the upper edge of the locking mechanism.
