6.2 Target Size Calculation for fixed focus instrument Cyclops 055L

The Cyclops 055L has a precision reflex optical system, which provides
'Through The Lens' sighting and gives precise definition of the target spot. The
focus is fixed at 5 metres.

Field of View

The precision reflex optical system gives a narrow field of view from the front of
the instrument to 5000 mm (Fig. 6-2).

6.3 Neutral Density Filter

Some Cyclops instruments, designated suffix -2F, are fitted with an additional,
internal, neutral density filter within the visual sighting system. This will not
affect the brightness or clarity of the internal (viewfinder) temperature display,
but does provide some additional eye comfort when viewing high temperature
targets.

6.4 Lens protection window

The Cyclops is supplied, as standard, with a protective window which covers
and protects the instrument lens.

Never look at the sun through this instrument - this could cause
severe damage to the eye.
