2-3-2 Print Quality Defect
SYMPTOM
Printout is not available.
Printing is faint, or white
lines appear on printouts
even after print head
cleaning.
Line(s) not included in
the print data appears on
printouts.
Paper gets smeared.
A part of a line is missing
on the printed-paper.
Printing quality is poor.
Black ink is not ejected.
Graphic or text is
enlarged on the printed-
paper.
Paper feed defect
occurs.
*1: Adjust the paper gap when removing the red screw while replacing the Paper Feed Motor.
*2: Check the waste ink level before replacing the Main Board ass'y. Register the ink level to new
Main Board ass'y.
Replace the lithium battery installed in the Main Board ass'y with new one.
Refer to Part:1-4-2 Precautions for Main Board ass'y Replacement and
CONFIRM
- Remove and re-install the FINE
Cartridge.
- Remove foreign material from the Cpa
Blade Unit.
- Perform the FINE cartridge cleaning
five times.
- Check the connection between the
carriage cable and the Main Board ass'y.
- Remove and re-install the FINE
cartridge.
- Feed several papers.
- Perform the bottom plate cleaning.
- Clean the paper path with a cotton
swab or a cloth.
- Clean the drive unit sub-rollers.
- Clean the FINE Cartridge 5 times.
- Remove and re-install the FINE
Cartridge.
- Remove foreign material from the Cpa
Blade Unit, if any.
- Perform the FINE cartridge cleaning
five times.
- Check the connection between the
carriage cable and the Main Board ass'y.
When enlarged in the carriage
movement direction:
- Wipe off grease or oil on the timing slit
stripfilm.
When enlarged in the paper feed
direction:
- Wipe off grease or oil on the timing slit
stripfilm.
- Check the connection between the
paper feed motor and the Main Board
ass'y.
