Information Description

USB cable

• COM port
Indication at which COM port the VDO SmartTerminal is
connected.
If you are unsure at which COM port the terminal is connected, select Not
connected and in the General area, activate Automatically update func-
tion connection data. Info and Status displays the current COM port.

able.
The settings from the IP address to the data port are
automatically set.
Deactivate this function if you wish to configure the net-
work settings manually.
• IP address
IP address for the VDO SmartTerminal
If you wish to operate the terminal in DHCP mode via a
VPN connection or if the UDP broadcast is blocked by
the terminal, the VDO TerminalService cannot receive
any messages from the VDO SmartTerminal in order to
update the connection parameters.
In this case, you must assign a fixed IP address to the
terminal via your DHCP server and enter it under IP ad-
dress.
