If the connection was created successfully, the serial num-
ber of the device is transmitted and entered into the com-
munication protocol.
USB stick (offline) Select this mode if you have not connected the device.
This is the case, for example, if you want to use the device
in standalone operation.
Since we always have to identify the device by its serial
number, we need this information to manage the device.
In this case, check the serial number directly on the
VDO SmartTerminal and enter it into the appropriate field.
5. Click on [OK], to apply the settings.

Terminal properties of the VDO SmartTerminal
The following chapters describe the individual settings of the
VDO SmartTerminal.
As soon as a terminal is selected from the terminal list, the screen is split and
the appropriate configuration of the selected terminal is shown in the lower part
of the screen. Here, you will find all settings options as well as a list of all down-
loads from the terminal and the current communication protocol between VDO
TerminalService and VDO SmartTerminal.
By activating the button Edit terminal, the settings are released for editing.
By using the bottom menu bar, you can store or reject configuration amend-
ments:
Function
Description
Store terminal
Stores the edited configuration of the VDO Terminal. If you
do not have the option Transfer configuration when
storing activated for this terminal, you will have to manu-
ally carry out the configuration transfer afterwards.
Cancel editing
Cancels the performed edits.
