Graphic Maps

This section illustrates how to configure the graphic and the instruction pages that
can assist the MT8001 operator during the event treatment.
When an event is triggered, the graphic map associated with the alarmed device is
displayed in the assisted treatment pages for that event (see the MT8001 Operat-
ing Manual for more information about these pages). If not modified, when the end
user looks in the assisted treatment map window, he or she will see a screen that
says "No map associated with this event".
The customer should provide the building drawings (typically AutoCAD) to be
shown in case of events, and then the Composer tool allows configuring the
graphic maps for the MT8001 management terminal.
Map characteristics
MT8001 can handle graphical Maps, representing a building floor with as many dy-
namic points as required. Maps can be organised in multiple layers, which can be
background or foreground layers. At least one background and one foreground
layer are present in any map.
Map layers contain graphical objects, which own a number of properties. Objects
are placed on layers from the tool-bar (static items - typically for the background)
and from the Composer tree (MT8001 points for the foreground).
Background layers are used to include AutoCAD, image files, and any other object
representing the building structure. Foreground layers contain the MT8001 points,
represented as icons that show the dynamic states of the real-time database.
Multiple layers can be defined and combined in different ways to create all the re-
quired views or depths. Note that MT8001, in a given page, can display one depth,
i.e. one combination of foreground and background layers.
