5 Maintenance

5.1 Maintenance task reference table [QL1]

The maintenance tasks and intervals for this product are defined in the Maintenance Schedule. The Mainte-
nance Schedule is a standalone publication.
The task numbers in this table provide reference to the maintenance tasks specified in the Maintenance
Schedule.

Measures
Check engine oil level
Visually inspect engine for leaks and general condition
Check intercooler condensate drain (if fitted)
Check signal ring position of maintenance indicator on air filter
Check relief bores on coolant pump(s)
Check for abnormal running noise, exhaust gas color and vibra-
tions
Drain water and contaminants from fuel prefilter (if fitted)
Check reading on service indicator of fuel prefilter (if fitted)
Replace fuel filter or fuel filter element
Check valve clearance
Replace air filter
Replace fuel injectors
Replace fuel injection pump(s)
Replace engine oil filter at each oil change or when the time
limit (years) is reached, at the latest
Check layer thickness of oil residue, clean and replace filter
sleeve of centrifugal oil filter (if fitted) together with every oil
change, at the latest
Perform endoscopic inspection of combustion chambers
Clean wire meshes of crankcase breather
Replace pressure pipe neck in cylinder head
