Initializing the HDD will erase all data on it.
HDDs that are idle for a long period of time can be put to sleep to decrease the power consumption and
extend the life of the HDDs.
1. Go to Menu > System Configuration > HDD > Record Information.

2. Check the Enable HDD Sleeping checkbox (by default), and the HDDs that are idle for a long period of
time will be set to sleep.
3. (Optional) Uncheck the Enable HDD Sleeping checkbox, and the HDDs will be set to work at all times.

12.2 Managing Network HDD

Purpose
You can add the allocated NAS or IP SAN disk to the DVR and use it as a network HDD.
1. Go to Menu > System Configuration > HDD > HDD Information.
