IOM module

This section describes the IOM used in Exos E 4U106 12Gb/s storage enclosures.

Each IOM maintains Vital Product Data (VPD) in EEPROM device and are interconnected by I2C buses on the
midplane creating an interlink between the two modules. An enclosure system fault occurs when incompatible
configurations are detected.
Refer to FRU Replacement Time Limit (Table 12) for maximum allowable time to replace FRUs. See section
"Replacing an IOM" (page 85) for replacement instructions.
