W ithout any pow er applied to the pa nel:
1. Ve rify the continuity of the loop circuit w iring,

2. Ve rify the continuity of the so under circuit w iring.
W ith circuit con nected the 10 K ohm s end -of-line
resistance can b e m easured.
C o nnect th e m ains and battery su pply to th e
panel an d once pow ere d up:
1. C arry out a D isplay test accessible at access level 2
and check all the indicators are w orking.

2. S etup th e system clo ck, accessible at access level 3.
3. C arry out tem porary disconnection and re-connectio n
of b attery, m ains su pply and sounder circuits
and check fau lt in dications are given of disconn ections.
C o nnect th e loop circuit:
1. C heck the address allocation w ith only loop end-1 conne cted,
note a loop open circuit fault is d ispla yed.
R epeat the test w ith only loop end-2 conn ected and th en
w ith both ends co nnecte d.

2. C arry out open circuit a nd sho rt circuit te sts on the +ve and -ve lines
of the loop circuit, re-allocate the loop after each te st.
3. R e allocate the loo p, configure the H ardw a re link to allo w data
to b e saved at the panel and save the loop m ap d ata to the
pan el E E P R O M .
C o nfigura tion:
1. A ssign devices to zones
2. Lab el devices and zones.

3. C onnect, configure an d test other equipm e nt
conn ected to the p anel.
4. O n com pletion o f changes to configuration data and w ith
data saved to the E E P R O M , reset the hardw are
link to positio n 2-3 to w rite protect the E E P R O M .
Fire pla n:

1. Test the fire pla n.
2. C heck alarm sound levels in all areas of the buildin g(s).
H a ndover:
1. E nsure all interested parties are inform ed the fire a larm

system is active.
2. Fill in the log book and provide advise on user responsibility
and the ne ed to m aintain the system in accordance w ith B S 5839 :P a rt 1.
