Changing the compressed gas cylinder

1. Close the valve on the compressed gas cylinder by hand.
2. Use up the remaining gas in the pressure regulator or vent it fully. Compliance with the
safety instructions for medical gases is mandatory. The gauge must fall back to "0".
Wait until the pressure regulator has depressurised fully before unscrewing it - failure

3. Downstream equipment can then be disconnected. Please also refer to the instructions
for use issued by the manufacturer of the downstream equipment.
4. Unscrew the pressure regulator from the valve on the compressed gas cylinder.

Decommissioning and storage

1. Close the valve on the compressed gas cylinder by hand.

safety instructions for medical gases is mandatory. The gauge must fall back to "0".
Wait until the pressure regulator has depressurised fully before unscrewing it - failure
to do this can damage the gaskets.
3. Downstream equipment can then be disconnected. Please also refer to the instructions
for use issued by the manufacturer of the downstream equipment.
4. Unscrew the pressure regulator from the valve on the compressed gas cylinder.
5. Cover the inlet and outlet connections on the TESCOM EUROPE WegaMed Compact
with protective caps.
6. Store the pressure regulator in a clean, dust-free and dry place until the next time it
needs to be used.
7. If the pressure regulator is out of use for a prolonged period, it should be cleaned (see
Chapter 5 "Maintenance and care").
Important!
It is also vital to ensure that maintenance intervals are observed for appliances put into
storage. Only appliances which have been properly maintained whilst in storage may be
put to use when taken out of storage.

5.1

Cleaning and disinfecting

If exterior cleaning is required, please only use a clean cloth. The cloth can be dry or
damp (with clean water). If, in exceptional cases, wet disinfection cannot be avoided,
standard approved surface disinfectants must be used. Compliance with safety instructions
for medical gases, as well as with guidelines for use, is mandatory.
Prior to cleaning or disinfection, all inlet and outlet connections on the TESCOM EUROPE
WegaMed Compact must be fitted with suitable protective caps.
