b. Turn it counterclockwise until it drops into
the lowest point of the thread leads.
Do notthreadthedipstickintotheoilfill
neck.
c. If the oil level is low, add oil to the upper
limit mark on the dipstick.
d. Reinstall the dipstick.
2. Tochecktheoillevelwiththeoilfillplug:
a. Unscrewandremoveoilfillplug(2).
b. The oil should be up to, but not over, the
pointofoverflowingthefillerneck.Ifthe
oil level is low, add oil to this point.
c. Reinstalltheoilfillcap.

10.4.5 Changing Engine Oil

1. Review the Operator's Manual for the engine.
2. Allow the engine to cool before changing the
oil. Draining works best when the oil is warm.
CAUTION
BURN HAZARD
Hot engine oil can burn skin.
3. Be sure the engine key switch is in the OFF
position and the fuel valve is turned OFF.
4. Place a pan under drain plug. Remove the
drain plug and allow the oil to drain for ten
minutes.
5. Reinstall the drain plug and tighten.
6. Dispose of the oil in an approved container.
Follow industrial disposal regulations.

thefillerneckwithSAE10W‑30oilforgeneral
usage. If the engine is operated in more
extreme conditions, refer to the OEM manual
for oil recommendations.
8. Reinstalltheoilfillcap/dipsticksecurely.
10.4.6 Checking Reduction Case Oil
Level
Always check the reduction case oil level with the
engine stopped and in a level position. Before
removing the dipstick, clean the area around and
beneath it. This will help keep foreign matter out
of the reduction case.
1. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, re-insert,
andrestthedipstickontheoilfillneck.
2. Turn it counterclockwise until it drops into
the lowest point of the thread leads. Do not
threadthedipstickintotheoilfillneck.
3. If the oil level is low, add oil until the oil level
is up to the full mark on the oil dipstick in the
reduction case.
4. Reinstall dipstick securely into the reduction
case.
