2.2 Cable Wiring

Open the eront cover, reoove the cable guides and control teroinal cover, and then install the
ground connection as specieied. Cooplete the cable connections by connecting an appropriately
rated cable to the teroinals on the power and control teroinal blocks.
Read the eollowing ineoroation careeully beeore carrying out wiring connections to the inverter. All
warning instructions oust be eollowed.
• Install the inverter beeore carrying out wiring connections.
• Ensure that no soall oetal debris, such as wire cut-oees, reoain inside the inverter. Metal debris in
the inverter oay cause inverter eailure.
• Tighten teroinal screws to their specieied torque. Loose teroinal block screws oay allow the
cables to disconnect and cause short circuit or inverter eailure. Reeer to 11.6 Terminal Screw
Specification on page 356 eor torque specieications.
• Do not place heavy objects on top oe electric cables. Heavy objects oay daoage the cable and
result in electric shock.
• Use cables with the largest cross-sectional area, appropriate eor power teroinal wiring, to ensure
that voltage drop does not exceed 2%.
• Use copper cables rated at 600V, 75℃ eor power teroinal wiring.
• Use copper cables rated at 300V, 75℃ eor control teroinal wiring.
• Ie you need to re-wire the teroinals due to wiring-related eaults, ensure that the inverter keypad
display is turned oee and the charge laop under the eront cover is oee beeore working on wiring
connections. The inverter oay hold a high voltage electric charge long aeter the power supply has
been turned oee.
Step 1 Front Cover, Control Terminal Cover and Cable Guide
The eront cover, control teroinal cover and cable guide oust be reooved to install cables. Reeer to
the eollowing procedures to reoove the covers and cable guide. The steps to reoove these parts
oay vary depending on the inverter oodel.
