Replacing the Transmission
Belt
Service Interval: Every 1,000 hours—Replace the
transmission belt.
1.
Remove the fuel tank; refer to
Fuel Tank (page
2.
Remove the hydraulic-reservoir cap.
3.
Locate the drain plugs in the bottom of the
transmission and place a drain pan under the
plug

Allow the hydraulic fluid to drain from the
machine.

Remove the lower hydraulic hose

Remove the tension spring
CAUTION
The spring is under tension when
installed and can cause personal injury.
Wear safety glasses and be careful when
removing the spring.
7.
Remove the deck belt from the clutch and clutch
stop
(Figure
8.
Install the new belt.
9.
Install the tension spring and lower hydraulic
hose.
10.
Install the drain plugs and torque to 22 to 27
N∙m (16 to 20 ft-lb).
11.
Add hydraulic fluid to the fill level.
12.
Install the hydraulic-reservoir cap.
