CAMSHAFT (SEGMENT SPEED) SENSOR

Hall Effect camshaft position sensor senses the Top dead center (TDC) point of the # 1 cylinder in the
compression stroke ,which allows the ECU to determine when to start the injection. The trigger is
mounted in the exhaust camshaft
NORMAL OPERATION
Ignition ON
During engine cranking , the output signal received from cam
shaft position sensor to ECU is within the range
DTC DETECTING CONDITIONS
Ignition ON
EMS ECU supply voltage 8-16V
While engine cranking,no valid signal from camshaft position
sensor
DTC REACTIONS
Engine check lamp continuously ON.
Engine will not start
If this failure occurs when the engine is running then engine
will keep on running
HEALING CONDITION
Ignition Off/On
