for the main charge phase (CC) up to ~94% SOC. Topping off times (CV phase) will stay about the
same.
Caveats
The override is based on the OVMS sending a modified charger control command immediately
after each command sent from the BMS. So every time the BMS asks the charger to give some
power level, the OVMS will immediately follow this by a request for the configured limit (only
while the BMS asks for higher levels of course).
The OVMS reacts very fast, but occasionally the charger will still get the original BMS control
command. That means the charger will start to raise the power level, and will lower it again as soon
as the OVMS is again in control. This leads to short peaks in the power level, they will normally not
reach up to 2 kW and will be only last for a few seconds. So most fuses will not blow from these
short peaks, but be aware some might. If the fuse triggers, try a lower level.
The following chart shows a log from a charge session starting at level 2, then switching to level 3,
level 1 and shortly before topping off to level 4:
The power levels in the chart are those at the battery. Maximum power level at the socket has been
measured at 770 W for level 2, 1040 W for level 3 and 1375 W for level 4.
