Chapter 3 Installation
Upon receipt
Verify the following before beginning installation:
•
Slot does not contain foreign objects or debris.
•
Backplane pins are not bent or damaged.
How to install the Module

Power down the Chassis.

Position the Module on Chassis Side Rails.

If Module has Securing Latches, position Securing Latches at a 90° angle to the
Module and place latches in unlocked position.

Slide Module along the Side Rails. Verify Module is properly aligned and does not
catch on Side Rails.

Slide Module into Card Cage. Press firmly to securely connect Module pins with
Backplane Assembly Connectors.

Press Securing Latches closed and place Securing Latches in Locked Position.

Hand tighten Captive Screw on each side of Module.

Securely tighten each Captive Screw to ensure Module is properly grounded via the
Chassis.
