Choke is fitted on the left side of the carburetor.
(All XC models)

Choke is fitted on the left side of the carburetor.
Activating the choke function frees a drill hole in the carburetor
through which the engine can draw extra fuel. This results in a
richer fuel-air mixture, which is needed for a cold start.

If the engine is warm, the choke function must be deacti-
vated.
Possible states
Choke function activated – The choke lever is pulled out to
•
the stop.
Choke function deactivated – The choke lever is pushed in to
•
the stop.

Shift lever is mounted on the left of the engine.

The gear positions can be seen in the photograph.
The neutral or idle position is between the first and second
gears.
